What Five Days Looks Like
The intensive format works because of repetition. Skills practised daily stick in a way that weekly lessons cannot match — this genuinely is a sequence, each day building on the last.
1. Assessment and Water Confidence
Teachers assess where each child is and set the week’s goal. The first session is about comfort — reacquainting nervous swimmers with the water.
2. Breath Control and Floating
Submersion, bubble blowing and independent floating on front and back. Most of the week’s progress in confidence happens here.
3. Propulsion and Kicking
Kicking with and without a board, streamlined push-offs, and the beginnings of arm movement over the water.
4. Stroke Development
Putting arms, legs and breathing together. Children practise short distances of recognisable freestyle and backstroke.
5. Water Safety and Review
The week finishes on survival skills — rolling to float, getting back to the wall, safe entries — plus a review so you can see the progress.
